"As a mom of three kids my life can be hectic. Ever stand in the pantry staring at what you have and wonder what the heck you are going to feed your three picky children who seem to be allergic to vegetables? Dinner a total shit show? Yep. Enter Veggies Don’t Bite founder, Sophia DeSantis. She gives recipes your kids will love (not to mention your husband/partner) while skipping the dairy, balancing sugar and other crap. My youngest daughter starts to back away when she sees something green in her food. Is it worth it for me to fight with her? No, but Sophia has shown me ways to incorporate veggies into things she will love (hello chocolate smoothie- with spinach but don’t tell my kids, Mac N Cheese, check!). I have also learned how to make the creamiest sauces for my favorite comfort foods, without waking up the next day bloated and uncomfortable from all the dairy! These recipes are doable and make it easier for me to give my family what they need without sacrificing taste. It’s a win!" - Nita G
Dinners were a nightmare for us. The stress started mid way through the day about what I was going to make. Did I even have anything in the fridge?
I hated dragging three little kids to the grocery store for supplies. I'd navigate the aisles as quickly as possible and throw whatever I thought I may need in the cart. The bill was always more than I expected.
It felt like our meals had control over our lives and I had little time left to enjoy my family, let alone the food.
I was blessed with one child who ate anything, one who inspected everything on his plate like a mad scientist, and one that cried before the food ever left the stovetop. Let's not even talk about the tantrums when dinner finally hit the table.
I wanted to feed my family healthy food, but the pressure I felt to be perfect was overwhelming!
That's when I realized the only pressure around my food was coming from me.
So I put on my big girl pants and came up with a system that built my confidence. I came up with strategies to give me more time with my family, make meals more manageable and help me feel more empowered overall.
I also started to tell the mean voice in my head that I had control over what I ate. There is no food police. I have the power to make choices that worked for me. And making room for both salad and fries made me feel better than ever!
Taking small steps to my ultimate goal was manageable. I started to feel confident when it came to feeding my family. I had the courage to try new things without feeling judged. I found joy in food again!
This membership will help you feel empowered, confident and give you courage too!
"You are amazing! We eat your recipes almost daily. We’ve struggled with being plant-based outside of our home so to hear you talk about balance was awesome. Thank you!" - Liz

"As a busy mom of two, I was unsure what to expect from Sophia’s personalized support. I was nervous that it would be complicated, full of weird ingredients, and expensive. I was so pleasantly surprised! Not only was it family friendly and easy to follow while living day to day life, but it was delicious, satisfying, and life-changing. I’ve adapted many of the program’s aspects beyond the program and learned so much about my own body. My favorite part about this membership is that I don’t feel pressured to go a specific path. I have a family with young boys and a picky husband, so full-blown vegan just doesn’t work for us day to day. I love eating more veggies and leaning plant-based. I love that Sophia is constantly offering practical ways to introduce plant-based in to your family’s meals while giving realistic advice for how to make one meal work for the whole family. Whether you’re fully plant-based or nervously dipping in your toe in an effort to live a healthier life, this group is the perfect judgment free and flexible place to explore that." - Morgan
Testimonial for Balancing Plant-Based by Jennifer Melrose
Hi! I’m Sophia the fun loving mom behind Veggies Don’t Bite! As a client-centered health coach, meal systems expert and plant-based recipe creator, I focus on helping people feel empowered instead of overwhelmed when it comes to overall health and wellness. I teach that small habits can lead to big changes.
I helped my husband better his heart health by completely changing our family's diet. I did this with a newborn and a 1-year-old, so I know what it's like to make a health change in the midst of chaos.
Being a teacher for 14 years, and getting my master’s degree in education, helped me understand that each person is unique in how they learn, and there is no one size fits all approach. I now have "retired" from my teaching job and run my business full time while navigating life with 3 young boys.
Through Veggies Don’t Bite and my popular podcast, Real Food Real Conversations, I strive to help people find what works for their personal health and wellness!
